Trustee Notice Advertising

Trustee Act notices, sometimes also referred to as “deceased estates notices” or “wills and probate notices” are advertisements placed in The London Gazette and a local newspaper containing details of a deceased person and inviting anyone who has a claim against the deceased person’s estate to make themselves known.

The fact that you have navigated to our website means you have probably already decided that you want to advertise Trustee Act notices. Perhaps your solicitor or legal adviser has suggested it is a good idea or you have come to this conclusion having conducted your own research. The legal basis for Trustee Act notices is in section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925 (an extract of which appears below). In short, they protect an executor against claims from unidentified creditors of the deceased person once the two months “claims period” stated in the advertisements has expired.

Simply click below to start the process and follow the steps. You will be asked to enter some details. It will be very clear what will and will not appear in the advertisements. You can then confirm the publications where the notices should be published and then make payment.

We will arrange for the notices to be published in The London Gazette and the classified section of your selected local newspaper. Once the notices have been published, we will send you (by email) copies of the published notices for your records.

The price depends on which newspaper you select. Once you have entered the details and selected the newspaper the full price will be confirmed, and you will be invited to take payment. You can of course still cancel the order at this stage before any payment is taken.

On receipt of your order, we will endeavour to arrange publication of the advertisements in the next available editions. Depending on the timing of your order and the classified advertising booking deadline of the selected newspaper this can take up to two weeks (as many newspapers are only published weekly).
